2025 has started off strong for Pokemon TCG fans, we have just seen the release of another highly anticipated Pokemon TCG set, Hot Air/Heatwave Arena! This past weekend we dove into the launch of the new SV9a set from Japan (release date, 14th of March 2024) and of course we had these in the shop ready to go over the weekend! We were even lucky enough to open up some boxes up for our lovely customers on our rip & ship TikTok stream (@hokeypoketcg) and we pulled some heat (pun intended)!

1.     Cynthia’s Garchomp ex (Special Art Rare)

Kicking off the list is our beloved Sinnoh Champion, Cynthia, teaming up with her trusty Garchomp in this stunning Special Art Rare. With an impressive 330 HP and formidable attacks, this card is not just a visual treat but a battlefield beast. Currently, it’s fetching around £245. 2. Ethan’s Ho-Oh ex (Special Art Rare)

Ethan, the Johto hero, soars alongside Ho-Oh in this majestic card. Beyond its breathtaking artwork, its gameplay potential is sky-high. This gem is valued at roughly £153. This card is stunning & my personal chase for the set!

3. Ethan’s Adventure (Special Art Rare)

Back to the Gen 2 hero! Ethan on his thrilling quest with this card that beautifully captures the spirit of adventure. It’s not just a collector’s dream but also a strategic asset, priced around £66. 

4. Cynthia’s Garchomp ex (Gold Ultra Rare)

For those who love a touch of bling, this gold variant of Cynthia’s Garchomp ex is pure gold—literally and figuratively. It’s currently valued at approximately £45.

5. Ethan’s Ho-Oh ex (Gold Ultra Rare)

This golden rendition of Ethan’s Ho-Oh ex is as dazzling as a sunrise over Ecruteak City. With a price tag of around £34, it’s a shining star in any collection. 

6. Misty’s Psyduck (Art Rare)

7. Yanmega ex (Special Art Rare)

Buzzing into the spotlight is Yanmega ex with this dynamic Special Art Rare. Its unique design and gameplay utility have it valued around £21.

8. Ethan’s Typhlosion (Art Rare)

Feel the heat with Ethan’s Typhlosion, showcasing the fiery prowess of this Johto starter. This card is currently fetching around £16. 

9. Levincia (Gold Ultra Rare)

This gold card features Levincia City, known for its electric vibes and vibrant atmosphere. It’s a must-have for collectors, priced around £12. 

10. Arven’s Mabosstiff ex (Special Art Rare)

Rounding out our list is Arven’s Mabosstiff ex, capturing the deep bond between trainer and Pokémon. This heartfelt card is valued at approximately £12. 

As it is still super early in the TCG market for this release, prices can be a little bit unpredictable, in a months time, these prices could increase or decrease. It is worth mentioning that we have seen a steady fall in prices in cards that came out with Battle Partners SV9 such as, Lillie’s Clafairy (a must have for any collection). Falling nearly 50% of the original market ask of £400, which is typical & healthy for the market.
